CCO Rotating Telehandler Operator (THR)

     Our comprehensive CCO Rotating Telehandler Training Program curriculum consists of combining in-depth classroom theory and hands-on practical, in-person training designed to meet OSHA and ANSI standards. It includes preparing for a written exam and a performance-based practical exam focused on maneuvering, load management, and safety protocols for rotating models.

Key Components of Training:

• Theory & Classroom Instruction:
  • Regulatory Compliance: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 and ANSI/ITSDF B56 standards.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding load charts, machine stability, center of gravity, and operator manuals.
  • Safety & Operations: Proper start-up/shutdown, safe travel, and managing hazards (power lines, site conditions).
  • Pre-operational Inspections: Identifying defects and performing daily maintenance checks.
• Practical (Hands-on) Training:
  • Equipment Familiarization: Understanding the specific controls of a rotating telehandler.
  • Load Handling & Precision: Pick-and-place tasks, including elevated placement and proper pallet use.
  • Machine Operation: Steering, maneuvering, and multi-function/combination operations.
  • Site-Specific Safety: Addressing specific jobsite hazards.
• Certification Requirements:
  • Written Exam
  • Practical Exam: Performance demonstration (e.g., placing loads, maneuvering) evaluated by a CCO-certified examiner.

Candidates who pass the Rotating Telehandler Certification are also qualified to operate fixed-boom telehandlers. Certification is valid for 3 years.
