CCO Fixed & Rotating Telehandler Operator
We offer CCO certified operator training and testing in accordance with OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1910.178 – Powered Industrial Trucks and ANSI/ITSDF B56.6 Safety Standard for Class 7 Variable Reach Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks.
Our certification course for fixed and rotating telehandlers is typically 2-3 days in length. This includes CCO written and practical testing.
CCO Written Testing Topics Covered Are:
PRE-OPERATIONAL INSPECTIONS
- Complete pre-operational inspection of machine
- Perform startup procedure
- Perform function check
- Complete pre-inspection form
EVALUATING JOBSITE CONDITIONS
- Conduct site inspection
- Mitigate site hazards
- Participate in job briefings/safety meetings
PRE-LIFT PREPARATIONS
- Develop a lift plan
- Verify legitimacy and capacity of attachments
- Install attachments
- Determine handling configuration
- Stabilize the telehandler
- Barricade the swing radius
TELEHANDLER OPERATIONS
- Perform frame leveling
- Ensure load retention/load securement
- Utilize various steering modes
- Travel with load
- Follow signal communications
- Lift and place loads
- Conduct critical lifts
- Conduct personnel lifts
- Perform shutdown procedure
CCO Telehandler Operator Practical Examinations Are Available On Two Telehandler Types:
ROTATING - A rough terrain forklift truck with a telescopic boom, that rotates with the chassis, that lifts, transports, and places loads in both horizontal and vertical planes using forks or a variety of other lifting attachments.
FIXED - A rough terrain forklift truck with a telescopic boom, that does not rotate with the chassis, that lifts, transports, and places loads in both horizontal or vertical planes using forks or a variety of other lifting attachments.
CCO Practical Skills Testing Includes:
INSPECTING THE EQUIPMENT
ELEVATED PLACEMENT OF A LOAD
PALLET USE
DRIVING
SETTING UP FOR A LIFT
COMBINATION (MULTIFUNCTION) OPERATIONS
TELEHANDLER OPERATION WITH LOAD AND WITHOUT LOAD IS REQUIRED
SHUT DOWN PROCEDURES
